How did you come to know and trust in Jesus Christ?

I was not a Christian but went to Christian college (go figure). I had one friend in particular who witnessed to me constantly in both word and deed. I was not interested. I thought Jesus Christ and Christianity was a crutch for weak people. During the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore year, my only brother was in a motorcycle accident and lay in a coma. I remember sitting in his hospital room and hearing very clearly, "Who's going to help you now?" My brother ended up dying. Needless to say, I had a newfound interest in hearing more about Jesus Christ. I went to a youth retreat with a group of friends and acknowledged Jesus Christ as Savior (still working on the Lordship).

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is good news! We are sinners - born in sin and will die in sin apart from God. Jesus came to die for sinners, of whom I am foremost. The good news is that I don't have to die in my sin as Jesus Christ died in my place. Because of His death, I live. The gospel is the POWER of God unto salvation. There is no name other name by which we can be saved. I sure hope I passed the test!

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? - Mark 8:36

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. - Gal. 6:14

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. - 1 Tim. 6:17

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world... - 1 Tim. 4:10

Do we love Jesus Christ more than we love this present world?

I uploaded a video called, "Revival Hymn," which is a lot like that "Revival Fire" CD you gave me. It has some of the same quotes from the CD in their extended versions, and a lot more. Check it out, it's really cool.

Also, I would very much appreciate your opinion of the blog-post I published about Memorial Day. I commented extensively on the message I have heard consistently preached in our church. Tell me what you think.
